GATE 01
Not skin-deep
Same mechanics, not just the same words.
File 05 · diverge
Strip a problem down to its shape. Then ask who solved that shape, under real pressure, in another field.
Looks risky is not the same as is risky. This turns risk tolerance into risk perception.
One in field A, one in field B. Different words, different setting, different picture. Nothing says they're related.
Take away each field's vocabulary. Keep what each part does, not what it's called.
Take away the materials, the tools, the scale. Keep the parts and how they push on each other.
Line the parts up by the role they play, not by where they happen to sit.
What's left is the problem's shape. Under two different costumes, it's the same skeleton.
Now ask who solved this shape, under real pressure, in another field.
Risk perception
Seen from inside field A, the move has never been made, so it reads as dangerous. Field B solved the same shape under real pressure. Put its record beside the reading.
You aren't braver than the field. You're better informed about which risks are real.
RISK TOLERANCERISK PERCEPTION
Survivorship
Searching many fields finds the successes and misses the failures. One field's success with a borrowed idea means little if twenty similar transfers quietly failed.
WHAT THE SEARCH FINDS: ONE SUCCESS
Before it counts
A borrowed answer counts only if it gets through all four.
GATE 01
Same mechanics, not just the same words.
GATE 02
The source actually solved it. Not the same unsolved problem in another costume.
GATE 03
The fields didn't get the idea from the same place. Otherwise it isn't two confirmations.
GATE 04
The source's conditions hold here. It transfers until those conditions matter.
What it allows
Moves the field avoids as risky that turn out to have been retired elsewhere.
Transfer sits in diverge and also feeds converge: "already solved elsewhere" counts as a check. A kind of evidence that isn't consensus.
